UC Berkeley's You Got Served Dance Fest-Grand Prize $500

There is no age requirement for the participant. However, if the participant is a minor, a parent must sign the application and the release form.
 
Each group must have 2 or more members
 
One application per group, however each member must complete a release form and each member must send in a payment of $30.00
 
Minimum for dance routine is 2 minutes and 30 seconds and the maximum is 5 minutes
 
If you are using music, music must be on a CD, however music is not required
 
No type of dance style is restricted for this contest.
 
Only one group will receive the grand prize 
  
 




Dance from All Perspectives-Elite dance class

Dance from All Perspectives-Second section is a class for those who have very strong technical backgrounds in either jazz or hip hop. It gives students an opportunity to expand their dance repertua in regards to adding variation in their dancing styles, and taking their jazz skills and hip hop skills to another level. Students will learn the best material from the head instructor and guest choreographers in the bay who specialize in modern, hip hop and jazz. There will be a fee for this class and those interested must email a brief dance resume to Tecsia Ross at colordanz@hotmail.com. You will be contacted with the day and time of the class if you are admitted to section 2 (advance/elite class)
What to include in your brief dance resume
Name: E-mail? How long have you been dancing? Where have you danced? Studios, dance teams, dance organizations, or dance companies? What types of dance do you specialize in? What are your best technical skills? ( ex. Jete, turns in second, quad turns, break dancing, jumps, etc) What skills do you want to work on?

COLOR Dance

COLOR provides students with the opportunity to earn a 2 units, learn stylized routines of their choice, practice in IN-DOOR FACILITY, and perform three showcases at CAL. Last semester we performed twice on Zellerbach and performed once at Maude-Fife with an audience crowd of over 100 people. COLOR has also been featured by the Onyx Express, a popular newspaper on campus.   Auditions for “COLOR” will be held Wednesday September 8th approx 5pm, location TBA. There will be two auditions. The first one will begin at 5:00 and this will be for those interested in hip hop. The second audition will start approx 8:45pm and this is for those who are interested in jazz, modern, or African dance. For the auditions, bring a pencil and a photo. Don't forget to check this website a week before the class and auditions (if interested in performance group) for room location and any possible changes.
